Diagonal Alternatives were so professional and supportive, getting everything organised to meet my Mother’s needs immediately. A weekly rota was issued, including photographs of the carers to expect and a team of the same carers used, which was very comforting for her, as she built up relationships with them. They are a truly caring organisation, who go over and above expectations and I am and will continue to recommend them highly.

From the first assessment visit on 9th June 2015, by the Senior Partner, to today, Diagonal Alternatives has offered unfailingly professional, compassionate, personalised care for my dad and support and advice for his wife and my sister and I. The assessment of dad’s needs has been thorough and on-going, the quality of staff is high, the flexibility of the service and availability of the management to deal with specific needs and issues has been excellent.

I cared for both my parents and elderly relatives for many years into the last years of their lives and so I understand the impact that the caring role has on the lives of families and how it can affect work and relationships. At a time when you are tired, feeling a great deal of stress and anxiety it is difficult to negotiate the health and social care maze on your own.   I also have a disabled daughter and she has carers who come into our home, so I know how intrusive it is having people outside your family come into your home and the fear of losing one’s privacy.

The registered manager and senior staff acted as positive role models for the staff team. People told us they were happy with the service provided for their relative and with the leadership. A relative said to us, “No I honestly do not think there is anything they don’t do. If there is a problem they deal with it immediately. They are like really good friends, that is how I look at them.”

Working for other companies was stressful, I was messed about. However, DA is a good company and looks after the staff, you get monthly supervisions. I feel part of a team, communications are good; they email and text so you have a record of them. DA listens to their staff and they take on board their comments, making improvements based on their feedback.
